COMMUNITY CONNECTEDNESS

Goal
Community members are aware of services and support available to them and are able to access these services with reduced barriers.

Why It Matters
Accessing services and supports can be challenging when information is difficult to find or systems are difficult to navigate. Improving awareness of available resources and reducing barriers to access can help community members find the supports they need and improve their overall well-being.

What We’re Doing
The Coalition works with community members and partners to:

  • Encourage collaboration between organizations to improve information sharing, referrals, and coordination of services.
  • Share information about available services, supports, and community resources.
  • Promote diverse communication approaches to help ensure information reaches a wide range of community members.
  • Support efforts to maintain and improve directories of local services and supports.
  • Support efforts for improved access to primary care and other essential services for people experiencing poverty.
  • Support system navigation resources that help people connect with available supports.
  • Advocate for increased access to technology and internet services that support access to information and services.
